![]() DigiTarot is based on the notion that a key to magick is the organization of correlative data. Masters such as Aleister Crowley tended to bury the correlations in cryptic language, either to help pace the study, or to discourage the uninitiated (or both). Contemporary magick can expose the complex models of esoteric systems like the Tarot to its practitioners, and arrive them sooner at the Work. Come with us...
Tarot thought is to be moderated. Our recommendation is to draw no more than a single card on the average day. A full reading, by throwing a spread, should be performed no more than once per week, and the practitioner should attempt to limit Tarot meditation to the time she is working to interpret the spread (no more than 30 minutes in most cases). Tarot thought is incredibly powerful, and the interplay of synchronicity, wishful thinking, and nagging dread is instructive to the self-conscious reader. Appreciating the nuances of the symbolism can take time, but much of the Tarot contains archetypal imagery that will immediately evoke an emotional response.
How does digital Tarot differ from using a "physical" deck? Both have their place, but DigiTarot introduces electricity into the shuffle, as well as the forces of magnetism that facilitate disk storage units such as hard drives. Technology empowers us with a truer mathematical randomness in the shuffle, and yet there remains a human-computer affinity which is proven in experiments wherein people have moved cursors with just their minds. To what extent do you influence the Tarot, and to what extent does it influence you? These questions remain relevant in the digital realm, but here we are empowered by an enhanced memory. Keeping a history of past readings on DigiTarot can serve as an essentiel component of your magickal notebook. What was taking place in my life at the time of that reading? What happened just after? Did the spread reveal truths about onsetting events, and do I remember seeing it at the time? These questions can only be answered if you have your past readings at your fingertips. We developed DigiTarot to fill the gaps in our own study of the Tarot. Using the deck that Aleister Crowley and Lady Frieda Harris created (the one we practice with), our goal is to demystify the Thoth Tarot and help our fellow practitioners unlock the spiritual potential of this widely misunderstood endeavour.
